Angels Regain First as Wheeler and Garcia Earn Their Wings; Semien Sparks Pitt in Come From Behind W

Los Angeles (UBAN) - Zack Wheeler struck out 12 batters and Adolis Garcia smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Otter Park as the Los Angeles Angels beat the Chicago Otters by the count of 9 to 4.
Garcia enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He clubbed a solo home run in the 1st inning, doubled plating a run in the 7th inning and cracked a solo homerun in the 9th inning. Los Angeles kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.
The victory was credited to Wheeler(2-2) who went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs. Domingo German(3-1) was the losing pitcher. He served up 3 gopher balls in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Wheeler was humble when questioned about his performance, 'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches this afternoon. But, I had great support behind me and I just threw what was called. That was an extremely well called game!'
Second baseman Marcus Semien had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at PNC Park as the Pittsburgh Alleghenys beat the Washington Federals 6 to 3.
Pittsburgh won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 8th inning scoring 4 runners on 4 hits. Pittsburgh ended up with 12 hits for the game while Washington had 8.
Jordan Weems(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing no runs. Tyler Holton recorded the save, his 3rd. Bryan Shaw(1-3) was hit with the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning and surrendered 3 hits and 1 walk.
