Knights Take Round 1 in Week End Showdown with Halos; Lab Rats Rally to Tie in 9, Win in 10

Seattle (UBAN) - Center fielder Mickey Moniak hit a homerun and had 4 RBI at Knights Field as the Seattle Knights beat the Los Angeles Angels 6 to 3 to take sole possesion of first place in the Pacific.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance provided by Moniak. He belted a three-run homer in the 5th inning and doubled scoring a run in the 6th inning. Both teams totaled 8 hits on the night.
The victory went to Ian Hamilton(2-0) who went 2 and 1/3 innings, allowing no runs. Chris Martin got the save, his 1st. The loss was charged to Cristian Javier(6-1). He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 5 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings.
41,250 fans were treated to a fine game at Truist Park as only one run separated the combatants at game's end. The red-hot Richmond Lab Rats won by the slimmest of margins, 6 to 5.
The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Richmond came out on top in the 10th inning. Will Smith jump-started the rally as he drew a walk. Michael Conforto came next and he delivered a one-base hit to load the bases. Andrew Benintendi then drew a walk plating a run. Manuel Margot
followed, but he was set down on strikes. Dylan Moore came to the plate and drew a walk scoring the final run of the inning. Neither team was able to score until the 7th inning.
The winning pitcher was Alex Vesia(2-2) who allowed 1 run in 1 inning. Nick Anderson recorded his 2nd save. Erik Swanson(1-1) took the loss in relief.
