New Orleans (UBAN) - Kerry Carpenter had 4 hits at The House of Blues where the Louisville Sluggers beat the New Orleans Blues by the score of 5 to 3.
Louisville did all of it's offensive work in the 4th inning when they scored 5 runs on 6 hits. The highlight belonged to David Fletcher who silenced the crowd when he quieted the crowd by clouting a Grand Slam. Louisville rapped out 12 hits for the night.
The winning pitcher was Jordan Montgomery(7-3) who allowed 3 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. Jose Alvarado was credited with his 2nd save. Edward Cabrera(3-1) suffered the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 5 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings.
Designated hitter Rowdy Tellez rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Sportsman's Park as the seemingly unstoppable St. Louis Browns beat the Los Angeles Angels 4 to 3.
Tellez provided much of the offense. He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 2nd inning and belted a three-run homer in the 5th inning. St. Louis had a total of 7 hits for the game.
Cristopher Sanchez(2-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 innings and allowing 3 runs. Felix Bautista got the save, his 12th. Louie Varland(2-2) was given the loss in relief. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 3 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.
No one has been able to stop St. Louis lately as they lengthened their winning streak to 8 games. 'We're on quite a roll lately' said Boog Powell. 'I just hope we can keep it going.'
