Miami (UBAN) - Nick Castellanos rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Marlins Park where the Miami Marlins beat the Richmond Lab Rats by the score of 4 to 1.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance provided by Castellanos. He lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 1st inning, smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 4th inning and lined a base-hit in the 8th inning. The Richmond batters went down meekly in the 9th.
Eury Perez(3-3) went 7 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Victor Gonzalez earned the save, his 1st. The loss was charged to Joey Lucchesi(0-3).
Kyle Bradish dominated striking out 13 Mexico City batters as the Atlanta Chiefs defeated the Mexico City Aguilas Doradas by a score of 5 to 0 at El Nido de Aguilas.
Bradish(4-3) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He didn't give up much, just 5 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings reducing his ERA from 3.34 to 2.96. Overall Atlanta out-hit Mexico City 9 to 6.
Triston McKenzie(1-1) was hit with the loss. His biggest problem was control as he allowed 8 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings. John Smoltz was impressed with Bradish and his 13 strikeouts. 'It's tough to generate runs if you can't make contact with the ball.'
