Soler Goes Deep Twice as Blues Drub Marlins; Snell Carries No-No into 8th Inning as 'Lemurs Nip BPP

New Orleans (UBAN) - Jorge Soler launched 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the New Orleans Blues bested the Miami Marlins 12 to 3 at The House of Blues.
Soler had a big evening at the plate. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 7th inning and belted a three-run homer in the 8th inning. For the game New Orleans out-hit Miami 10 to 7.
The victory went to Rafael Montero(1-1) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing no runs. Matt Strahm(4-2) took the loss in relief. He surrended 3 homeruns in his 3 and 2/3 innings.
Blake Snell didn't allow a hit until the 8th inning as the Vancouver Death Lemurs defeated the Oakland Black Panther Party by a score of 2 to 1 at Black Panther Park.
Snell(6-2) put on a good performance. He didn't allow much, just 2 hits and 5 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. Snell chalked up 8 strikeouts. The left-handed Snell lost his no-hit bid when Jonathan India singled with one out in the 8th inning. Vancouver out-hit Oakland for the game, 7 hits to 2.
Jeff Hoffman earned the save, his 3rd. Matthew Liberatore(3-4) was tagged with the loss. He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.
