Bisons Take Both Ends of Twin-Bill from Alleghenys; Seals Walk-Off 'Hens in Ten

Buffalo (UBAN) - The Buffalo Bisons nipped the Pittsburgh Alleghenys 5 to 4 at Sal Maglie Stadium in the first game of a day-night doubleheader.
Buffalo had the game winning rally in the 8th inning with 2 runs using 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Travis D'Arnaud got things going when he lofted a solo-blast 'downtown'. Byron Buxton stepped up next and he smashed a solo-shot out of the park. Pittsburgh had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
J.T. Chargois(1-2) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Tyler Rogers* earned the save, his 11th. Luis Castillo(7-4) was given the loss.
Despite losing Bud Abbott was optimistic after the game. 'We'll get over this one. Sometimes the breaks fall your way, sometimes they don't. Any one of a dozen little things go different, and we come out on top.'
In the nightcap, Carlos Santana smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Buffalo Bisons beat the Pittsburgh Alleghenys by the score of 4 to 1.
Santana provided much of the offense. He lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 1st inning, doubled in the 4th inning and smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 8th inning. Buffalo had 6 hits for the game and Pittsburgh had 3.
Chase Anderson(2-5) allowed 1 run in 5 innings, and picked up the victory. J.T. Chargois preserved the game for Anderson, recording his his 1st save. Javier Assad(1-3) suffered the loss. He gave up 5 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
Buffalo won for the 6th straight time.
The San Francisco Seals nipped the Toledo Mud Hens in 10 innings 3 to 2 at Seals Park in a hard fought contest.
Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. San Francisco won the game in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Bryan De La Cruz drew a walk. Dairon Blanco came to the plate and stroked a base-hit making San Francisco victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
The winning pitcher was Alexis Diaz(2-1) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Gregory Soto(4-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. He pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up 1 hit and 1 walk.
