Judge Homers Twice in 10-Run 3rd as Angels Drub Feds; 'Lemurs 8-Run 10th Skins Bisons
June 13, 2024
Los Angeles (UBAN) - Zack Wheeler dominated striking out 10 Washington batters and Aaron Judge launched 2 homeruns as the Los Angeles Angels defeated the Washington Federals by the score of 12 to 4 at Angel Stadium.
Judge was really 'in the zone'. He lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 3rd inning, electrified the crowd with a Grand Slam home run later in the 3rd inning and ripped a single plating a run in the 6th inning. Both teams totaled 9 hits on the night.
The victory was credited to Wheeler(6-5) who went 8 innings, allowing 4 runs. Bailey Falter(2-7) was given the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 2 innings.
When asked about his strikeout total for the game, Wheeler offered, 'The fan's really got into it. It is fun to see them tally up the strikeout totals up there in the stands. Fortunately, I kept them busy tonight - of course, it would be all for naught without the 'W'.'
Spencer Torkelson left the yard and had 3 RBI as the Vancouver Death Lemurs defeated the Buffalo Bisons in 10 innings by a score of 14 to 7 at Sal Maglie Stadium.
Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings. Vancouver ended up winning it in the 10th inning. The highlight belonged to Jeimer Candelario who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he launched a three-run homer. Buffalo was out-hit by Vancouver, 15 hits to 11.
Braden Bristo(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing 1 run. The losing pitcher was Tyler Rogers*(2-3) in relief. He gave up 5 runs and 2 hits in 1 and 1/3 innings.
The Vancouver ballclub's record now stands at 37-33. With the loss, Buffalo has a record of 5-5 lately, 26-43, worst in the division overall.
