Mejia, Glasnow Lead Otters Over Mud Hens; Alleghenys' 5-Run 9th Dazes Knights

Chicago (UBAN) - Tyler Glasnow whiffed 14 batters and Francisco Mejia smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Chicago Otters bested the Toledo Mud Hens 7 to 5 at Otter Park.
Mejia made sure the Chicago fans enjoyed themselves. He clubbed a solo home run in the 6th inning and lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 8th inning. Chicago had just 6 hits for the afternoon.
Glasnow(4-7) was the winner allowing 5 runs in 8 innings. Paul Sewald recorded the save, his 7th. Steven Wilson(2-2) was the loser in relief.
Glasnow was jubilant in the hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of fun out there. The fans gave me a lot of support as did my teammates. We got the victory and I'll sure take 14 strikeouts anytime!'
In a thriller the Pittsburgh Alleghenys staged a dramatic comeback then held on to win over the Seattle Knights by a score of 7 to 4 at Knights Field.
Pittsburgh won the game with a rally in the 9th inning when they scored 5 runs on 4 hits. The Seattle batters didn't put up a fight in the bottom of the 9th.
Keynan Middleton(2-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Middleton got help from Tyler Holton who earned his 11th save. Kenley Jansen(1-2) took the loss in relief. His ERA increased from 5.40 to 7.84 as he allowed 3 runs in 1/3 of an inning.
Lou Piniella was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm not in the mood for questions, but I'm sure Bud Abbott will be glad to talk about the game as long as you have questions to ask.'
