Arraez Collects Four Hits in Support of Fried in Shutout Win; Jacks Snap 12-game Losing Streak in Pi

Vancouver (UBAN) - Second baseman Luis Arraez had 4 hits and Max Fried pitched 5 and two third strong innings as the Miami Marlins defeated the Vancouver Death Lemurs by a score of 5 to 0 at Death Lemur Field.
Miami jumped out to the early lead in the first inning plating one baserunner on 2 base hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. Miami out-hit Vancouver for the game, 10 hits to 2.
The winning pitcher was Fried(7-3) who allowed no runs in 5 and 2/3 innings. Fried was helped out by Matt Strahm who recorded his 9th save. The losing pitcher was Michael Wacha(3-6).
The Jacksonville Jacks ended a long winless drought and and the Pittsburgh Alleghenys locked up in an exciting one-run game at PNC Park. The final score was the Jacksonville Jacks 4, the Pittsburgh Alleghenys 3.
In the 3rd inning Jacksonville scored 3 runs when they had 3 base hits. They would hold up as the winning runs. Pittsburgh had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
The victory was credited to Vince Velasquez(2-2) who went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs. Velasquez got help from Wandy Peralta who earned his 5th save. Javier Assad(1-5) was charged with the loss. He was knocked around by Jacksonville, allowing 8 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
When questioned, Yoda Berra remarked, 'It's been a while since a win felt this good - heck, it's been a while since we had a win period!'
