Paxton Pitches Panthers to Shutout Win over 'Ghenys; Bisons Stampede Braves at Hitter Friendly Sal

Oakland (UBAN) - James Paxton struck out 10 batters as the Oakland Black Panthers defeated the Pittsburgh Alleghenys by a score of 1 to 0 at Black Panther Party Park.
Paxton(1-9) dominated Pittsburgh hitters. He surrendered only 1 hit and 2 walks in 7 innings. Oakland had only 4 hits for the game.
Mark Leiter earned his 6th save. Bailey Ober(5-8) was the losing pitcher. He allowed just 4 hits and no walks in 6 and 1/3 innings. Frank Robinson was asked about the performance of Paxton, 'He had his good stuff out there tonight. The fans really get into it when the strikeouts start mounting up -
and that seems to give him even more adrenalin.'
One run was the difference at Sal Maglie Stadium as the Buffalo Bisons defeated the San Diego Braves 6 to 5.
Buffalo had the winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning plating 2 runs using 2 hits. Ronald Acuna started the attack as he smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly'. Bo Bichette was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. One out later, Jason Heyward then delivered a solo blast. Buffalo finished with 8 hits in the victory.
The win went to Drey Jameson(3-3) who allowed no runs in 4 and 1/3 innings. Tyler Rogers recorded the save, his 14th. Ryan Pepiot(2-2) absorbed the loss in relief.
Wth the win Buffalo now has a record of 31-49. San Diego has a record of 45-35 after the loss.
