Marte, Marauders Muscle Past Elite Giants; Fried Fans 14 Feds in Marlin Win

Memphis (UBAN) - Ketel Marte cracked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Marauders Park where the Memphis Marauders beat the Baltimore Elite Giants 11 to 4.
Marte enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He belted a three-run homer in the 7th inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 8th inning. Memphis managed 9 hits in their victory.
The win went to Yohan Ramirez(3-1) who allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Julian Merryweather(2-5) ended up with the loss in relief. Memphis now has a record of 39-42. With the loss, Baltimore has a record of 4-6 lately, 47-34 overall.
Max Fried struck out 14 batters at Marlins Park as the Miami Marlins beat the Washington Federals 3 to 0.
Fried(8-3) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Washington offense. He allowed just 3 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings. The pitchers took over after the 3rd inning as neither team was able to score again.
Devin Williams preserved the game for Fried, recording his his 13th save. Kyle Muller(0-7) absorbed the loss. Richie Zisk was upset after the game. 'I don't like to complain but did you see that umpires strike zone?', he said. 'Maybe they ought to start calling the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book.'
