Seattle (UBAN) - The Seattle Knights edged the Miami Marlins at Knights Field by the score of 3 to 2.
Seattle went ahead for good in the bottom of the 2nd inning plating an isolated run. That was all the runs Tarik Skubal(1-0) needed. The pitchers took over after the 2nd inning as neither team was able to score again.
Skubal got help from Hector Neris who was credited with his 4th save. Eury Perez(5-6) was charged with the loss. He surrendered 6 hits and 3 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
In a lop-sided win the Chicago Otters ripped the pathetic Indianapolis Longhorns by a 12 to 6 count.
The score was tied at 6 after nine. Chicago won the hard fought contest in the 10th inning. The big moment was provided by Francisco Mejia who silenced the stadium when he stroked a base-hit which was good for two runs. Chicago and Indianapolis each finished the night with 11 hits.
Paul Sewald(2-2) went 2 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. The loss was charged to Ron Marinaccio(0-1) in relief. The Chicago ballclub's record now stands at a division leading 49-37. Indianapolis continued their losing ways and their record is now 30-57, worst in the division. They are 2-8 in their last ten games.
