Islanders Demolish Mud Hens as Joe Drives in Five; Blues Rally to Make it 9 in a Row

Honolulu (UBAN) - Designated hitter Connor Joe went yard and had 5 RBI at Aloha Stadium as the Hawaii Islanders belted the Toledo Mud Hens by the count of 19 to 0.
Joe helped send the fans home happy. He doubled with all three baserunners touching home in the 5th inning, doubled plating a run in the 7th inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 8th inning. Hawaii bats were hot in the 5th inning when they had 9 runs on 8 hits and the 8th inning with 4 runs
on 4 hits. Hawaii ended up with 22 hits for the game while Toledo had 9.
The win was credited to Nick Martinez(3-4) who went 5 innings allowing no runs. Yusei Kikuchi(2-9) was charged with the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 5 runs in 4 innings.

In a two run game the red-hot New Orleans Blues got by the Memphis Marauders by the score of 5 to 3.
New Orleans erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 8th inning with 2 runs using 2 hits. Juan Soto led off and he drew a walk. Christian Walker came to the plate and smacked a single. Adley Rutschman then laced a one-base hit bringing in a run. Wilmer Flores followed and he hit a deep fly scoring the final run of the inning. New Orleans and Memphis each finished the night with 9 hits.
The victory went to Robert Stephenson(1-3) who went 3 innings, allowing no runs. Bryan Abreu earned his 20th save. The loss was charged to Tom Cosgrove(4-3) in relief.
New Orleans continued their winning ways, with their streak now at 9 games and counting.
