Soto Stars as Blues Subdue Highlanders; Acuna Collects Four Hits as Bisons Bury Stars

New York (UBAN) - Juan Soto smashed 3 homeruns and drove in seven runs and Jeffrey Springs had an impressive outing as the New Orleans Blues outscored the New York Highlanders 8 to 2.
Soto provided much of the offense. He cracked a solo homerun in the 1st inning, lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 3rd inning and depressed the partisan hometown fans with a grand slam home run in the 4th inning. New Orleans ended up with 10 hits for the game while New York had 5.
The win was credited to Springs(2-0) who went 5 innings allowing no runs. The losing pitcher was Reid Detmers(8-8). He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 3 and 1/3 innings of work.
Wth the win New Orleans now has a record of a division leading 69-43. With the loss, the New York ballclub's record is 70-41.
Ronald Acuna had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Buffalo Bisons defeated the Milwaukee Stars by a score of 15 to 8 at Sal Maglie Stadium.
It was a good day for Buffalo thanks to Acuna. He stroked a one-base hit in the 1st inning, hit a bases-empty home run in the 3rd inning, doubled knocking in a run in the 7th inning and doubled which brought home a run in the 8th inning. Buffalo bats were very productive in the 8th inning which saw them plate 7 runs on 5 hits. Buffalo dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different innings.
Drey Jameson(4-4) was the winner allowing no runs in 5 innings. Miguel Diaz earned the save, his 1st. David Peterson(8-7) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 5 innings allowing 11 hits and no walks.
Buffalo now has a record of 45-65. With this loss, Milwaukee has a 6-4 record of late, 54-58 overall.
