Cabrera, Blues Blank Mud Hens as Soto Drives in 6; Giants Down Rats to Regain First Place

Toledo (UBAN) - Juan Soto ripped 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI and Edward Cabrera went 7 strong innings at Klinger Field as the New Orleans Blues beat the Toledo Mud Hens 8 to 0.
Soto had a big day with his bat. He doubled plating a run in the 1st inning, lofted a three-run bomb in the 2nd inning, ripped a base-knock in the 5th inning and blasted a two-run home run in the 7th inning. Overall New Orleans out-hit Toledo 9 to 3.
Cabrera(9-4) got the win allowing no runs in 7 innings. The loss was charged to Jack Flaherty(5-10). He gave up 5 runs and 5 hits in 1 and 2/3 innings.
Soto said, 'It was just all timing. I had pretty good rhythm at the plate tonight. You've got to take advantage of mistakes when you can. A couple pitches were definitely up a little bit - right in my zone.'
Ryan Noda had 3 base hits and 3 RBI as the Baltimore Elite Giants topped the Richmond Lab Rats by a score of 6 to 3 at Roy Campanella Field.
Baltimore had 3 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 2nd inning when they had 4 base hits. The highlight belonged to David Fry who excited the crowd when he laced a single bringing in two baserunners. Richmond threatened in the 9th but Baltimore was able to put down the rally.
The win went to Tony Gonsolin(8-4) who allowed 1 run in 7 innings. Jameson Taillon(5-12) was charged with the loss. 'We won because we did the little things right.' Mark Hamill said after the game. 'This is why we practice things over and over and over, so when we get in close games we don't make
mistakes.'
