Elite Giants Draw First Blood in Showdown With Chiefs; Aguilas Nip Browns in 10 on Riley Homer

Atlanta (UBAN) - Chris Bassitt reeled off a total of 11 strikeouts and first baseman Joey Meneses had 2 base hits at Truist Park where the Baltimore Elite Giants beat the Atlanta Chiefs by the score of 6 to 4.
Bassitt(13-8) gave Baltimore a solid outing. He allowed 6 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings. Both teams ended up with 7 hits on the night.
Emmanuel Clase was credited with his 22nd save. Eduardo Rodriguez(8-9) was the losing pitcher. Bassitt was humble when questioned about his performance, 'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches tonight. But, I had great support behind me and I just threw what was called. That was an extremely well called game!'
The Mexico City Aguilas Doradas nipped the reeling St. Louis Browns in 10 innings 5 to 4 at Sportsman's Park in a hard fought contest.
The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Finally, Mexico City pulled the game out in the 10th inning. Austin Riley began things off when he popped a two-run clout over the fence. Mexico City banged out 10 hits on the night.
Camilo Doval(4-4) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Mauricio Llovera(3-4) absorbed the loss in relief. He allowed Mexico City 3 runs in 2 innings of work.
