Baltimore (UBAN) - Cody Bellinger knocked 3 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Roy Campanella Field as the Baltimore Elite Giants belted the New Orleans Blues by the count of 13 to 3.
Bellinger was spectacular at the plate. He delivered a solo blast in the 1st inning, banged out a single in the 3rd inning, ripped a solo home run in the 5th inning and smashed a two-run homer in the 7th inning. Baltimore had 14 hits for the night while New Orleans had 3.
Rich Hill(10-9) allowed 3 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the victory. German Marquez(2-1) absorbed the loss. Baltimore knocked him around a bit, as he gave up 4 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
'I felt great out there tonight' Bellinger said. 'I was seeing the ball perfectly, and I was right on it with my swing.
Matt Olson ripped 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Cole Ragans reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts as the Salt Lake City Saints beat the San Diego Braves by a score of 6 to 0.
Olson had a big day at the plate. He popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 1st inning and bombed a two-run dinger in the 7th inning. San Diego was out-hit by Salt Lake City, 9 hits to 4.
Ragans(9-4) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 8 innings. Michael Kopech(5-9) was given the loss. Ragans was asked about his big strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running tally in the stands, everything gets
real still and quiet. Just strange - but it's nice to be able to take the crowd out of the game.'
