Semien Drives in 5 as Allghenys Top Highlanders; Otters Complete 4-Game Sweep of Colts

Pittsburgh (UBAN) - Second baseman Marcus Semien cleared three ducks from a very crowded pond with a grand slam as the Pittsburgh Alleghenys defeated the New York Highlanders by the score of 6 to 2 at PNC Park.
Semien had a good day at the plate. He ripped a single resulting in a run in the 2nd inning, electrified the crowd with a Grand Slam home run in the 4th inning and delivered a one-base hit in the 7th inning. New York had 12 hits in the game while Pittsburgh had 8, but Pittsburgh had the more timely hits.
Bailey Ober(11-9) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and allowing 2 runs. Pierce Johnson got the save, his 19th. Griffin Canning(10-7) was the loser. He gave up 7 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.
47,721 fans watched an exciting game at Globe Life Field. The Chicago Otters topped the Dallas Colts by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.
Both teams had scored 3 runs after nine full innings. Chicago came out the victor in the 10th inning. Sam Hentges then had one get away for a wild pitch. Leody Taveras was next and he drew a walk. Jarren Duran dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Pete Fairbanks then threw a pitch that
the catcher muffed scoring the run. Chicago banged out 10 hits on the afternoon.
The win was credited to Enyel De Los Santos(8-1) who went 2 innings allowing no runs. De Los Santos got help from Bryse Wilson who earned his 6th save. Hentges(3-3) was tagged with the loss in relief. He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.
