Diaz Homers Twice as Knights Edge Browns; Baltimore Roars Back to Bring Down Highlanders

St. Louis (UBAN) - Yainer Diaz launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Johan Oviedo went 7 solid innings as the Seattle Knights beat the St. Louis Browns by a score of 3 to 2.
Diaz was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at their team's expense. He clubbed a solo home run in the 1st inning, cracked a two-run shot in the 3rd inning and smacked a single in the 8th inning. St. Louis had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
The winning pitcher was Oviedo(10-8) who allowed 1 run in 7 innings. Oviedo got relief help from Jordan Romano who gained credit for his 18th save. Tanner Houck(8-9) was tagged with the loss. He gave up just 3 runs and 4 hits in 7 innings.
The Baltimore Elite Giants defeated the New York Highlanders by a score of 6 to 3 at Roy Campanella Field.
Baltimore had the game winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning scoring 3 runs utilizing 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Tommy Pham began the Baltimore spurt when he reached on an error. Ryan Noda was next and he drew a walk. Cody Bellinger then ripped a one-base hit to load the bases. Luis Robert came up and he delivered a single driving in two more baserunners. Josh Bell stepped into the box and hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final run of the inning. Baltimore won despite being out-hit by New York 8 hits to 5.
Geoff Hartlieb(1-0) went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. The loss was charged to Ryan Borucki(3-3) in relief. He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.
