New Orleans (UBAN) - The amazing Seattle Knights and the New Orleans Blues locked up in an exciting
one-run game at The House of Blues. The final score was the Seattle Knights 7, the New Orleans Blues 6 in 11 innings.
Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, Seattle prevailed in the 11th inning. After two outs Austin Hays was walked intentionally. Paul Goldschmidt stepped up next and he smacked a single scoring the run. Seattle had 12 hits for the night.
Ian Hamilton(5-0) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Colin Holderman(2-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 1 hit and 1 walk in 2/3 of an inning.
Mookie Betts smashed 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI as the Mexico City Aguilas Doradas topped the Richmond Lab Rats by a score of 9 to 3 at Lab Rat Stadium.
Betts provided much of the offense. He clubbed a solo home run in the 3rd inning, ripped a base-knock which was good for two runs in the 4th inning and lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 7th inning. Mexico City had 14 hits overall, while Richmond had 6.
Max Scherzer(8-6) went 8 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Cody Bradford(0-2) was given the loss. He surrended 3 homeruns in his 3 and 2/3 innings.
'It's just about getting in a good hitting position and just going out there and being prepared,' Betts said. 'You try to hit in your own capacity and not do too much. I just try to have a good approach, day after day, game by game, and pitch by pitch.'
