Vazquez Powers Monarchs Over Elite Giants; Bregman Homers Twice to Lead Late Surging Braves

Baltimore (UBAN) - Christian Vazquez smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Kansas City Monarchs defeated the Baltimore Elite Giants by a score of 5 to 4 at Roy Campanella Field.
Vazquez provided much of the offense. He blasted a solo shot in the 2nd inning and cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 4th inning. David Bednar, after tossing a perfect ninth, was credited with his 22nd save.
The win went to Ranger Suarez(11-12) who allowed 3 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings. Rich Hill(11-11) was the losing pitcher. Kansas City scored big getting 5 runs off him in 4 and 1/3 innings.
Wth the win Kansas City now has a record of 59-89. With the loss, Baltimore has a record of 4-6 lately, 79-67 overall.
Alex Bregman blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the San Diego Braves defeated the Indianapolis Longhorns 12 to 4 at Longhorn Stadium.
Bregman provided the offensive punch. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 1st inning, doubled knocking in a run in the 3rd inning and ripped a solo home run in the 6th inning. The San Diego offense man-handled the Indianapolis pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9 innings.
Paul Blackburn(8-10) allowed 4 runs in 7 innings, and picked up the victory. The losing pitcher was Grayson Rodriguez(7-15). He gave up 5 runs in 2 innings of work.
This win by San Diego continues their recent hot streak. In their last ten games, they have a record of 8-2. For the season, they are 78-69. Indianapolis has a record of 56-90, worst in the division after the loss.
