Thomas Goes 5 for 5, Drives In 3 as Stars Batter Bisons; Monarchs End Aguilas' Streak at 12

Milwaukee (UBAN) - Right fielder Lane Thomas had 5 hits and 3 RBI and Bryce Miller pitched 7 strong innings at Miller Park where the Milwaukee Stars beat the Buffalo Bisons 10 to 1.
It was a good day for Milwaukee thanks to Thomas. He laced a one-base hit in the 1st inning, bombed a two-run dinger in the 3rd inning, ripped a base-knock in the 5th inning, stroked a base-hit in the 7th inning and doubled resulting in a run in the 8th inning. Overall Milwaukee out-hit Buffalo 18 to 4.
The win was credited to Miller(11-11) who went 7 innings allowing 1 run. Ty Blach(5-3) absorbed the loss. He allowed 14 hits and no walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
Jordan Westburg had 2 base hits as the Kansas City Monarchs defeated the Mexico City Aguilas Doradas in 10 innings 7 to 5 at El Nido de Aguilas.
The score was tied at 5 after nine. Finally, Kansas City pulled the game out in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Christian Encarnacion started the attack as he doubled plating a run. One out later, C.J. Cron stepped in and he laced a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. Despite losing, Mexico City out-hit Kansas City 12 to 8.
Jimmy Cordero(3-1) allowed 1 run in 1 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Cordero got help from David Bednar who earned his 23rd save. Yennier Cano(6-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.
Kansas City now has a record of 60-90. Even with the loss, Mexico City still has a nice 9-1 record in recent weeks. They are 88-60 on the season.
