September 29, 2024
Nashville (UBAN) - Ketel Marte left the yard and had 2 RBI at Sounds Field as the Memphis Marauders beat the dreadful Nashville Sounds 3 to 0.
Nashville fell behind quickly as the Memphis offense came through in the first inning scoring a single run. After an out was recorded, Rafael Devers single-handedly provided a rally, as he belted a solo home run. That early run support was enough for Zack Greinke(11-10) and Memphis. The pitchers took over after the 3rd inning as neither team was able to score again.
Nick Ramirez was credited with his 6th save. Colin Rea(3-11) was the loser. He pitched 6 innings allowing 5 hits and 1 walk.
21,627 fans were treated to a fine game at Globe Life Field as only one run separated the combatants at game's end. The Dallas Colts won by the slimmest of margins, 7 to 6.
Dallas won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 8th inning plating 2 runs using 2 hits. Yoan Moncada started the inning off right when he ripped a one-base hit. Keibert Ruiz dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Dan Vogelbach then bombed a two-run dinger. Dallas had 11 hits for the night while San Diego had 7.
Tanner Scott(5-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing no runs. Pete Fairbanks was credited with his 35th save. Michael Rucker(2-4) ended up with the loss in relief. He gave up 2 hits and no walks in 1 and 1/3 innings.
