Alleghenys Walk-Off Marlins in 11 to Advance to Division Series

Pittsburgh (UBAN) - Second baseman Marcus Semien had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Pittsburgh Alleghenys defeated the Miami Marlins in 11 innings by the score of 6 to 5 at PNC Park.
Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, Pittsburgh pulled the game out in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Brandon Nimmo drew a walk. Brandon Belt next to the plate and he drew a walk. Adam Duvall was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Mike Moustakas followed next and he stroked a base-hit to load the bases. Ernie Clement stepped into the box and banged out a single making Pittsburgh the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Pittsburgh had 16 hits for the game and Miami had 8.
Tyler Holton(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Trevor May(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 hit and 2 walks in 1 and 1/3 innings.
