San Francisco (UBAN) - Pablo Lopez retired 14 batters on strikeouts as the San Francisco Seals bested the Mexico City Aguilas Doradas 4 to 3 at Seals Park.
Lopez(1-0) earned his pay with a solid performance for San Francisco. He was reached for 9 hits and no walks in 7 and 1/3 innings and was touched for 2 homeruns. Mexico City had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
Raisel Iglesias earned his 1st save. Merrill Kelly(0-2) absorbed the loss. Lopez was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.'
