Highlanders Rally With 2-Out in 12th to Eliminate Elite Giants

Baltimore (UBAN) - Third baseman Ezequiel Duran had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the New York Highlanders defeated the Baltimore Elite Giants in 12 innings by the score of 7 to 5 at Roy Campanella Field. The Highlanders will now face the winner of the New Orleans - Pittsburgh series in the Eastern Conference Championship Series.
The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings. New York was victorious in the 12th inning. After two were out Cal Raleigh opened up the rally as he drew a walk. Robbie Grossman was next and he hit a single. Duran then laced a single driving in a run. Duran took second on the throw. Kyle Higashioka
was up next and he reached on an error scoring the final run of the inning. Although they lost, Baltimore did out-hit New York 12 to 9.
The victory was credited to Sam Moll(1-0) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs. Moll got help from Justin Lawrence who was credited with his 1st save. Miguel Castro(0-1) took the loss in relief.
