Alleghenys Relinquish Lead in Regulation; Walk-Off Blues in 10th

Pittsburgh (UBAN) - The Pittsburgh Alleghenys edged the New Orleans Blues in 10 innings at PNC Park by the score of 6 to 5, to take a 2 - 1 lead in their best-of-five series.
The score was tied at 5 after nine. Pittsburgh came out the victor in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Whit Merrifield drew a walk. Merrifield took second on a stolen base. Pittsburgh continued their aggressive style with another stolen base. Brandon Nimmo followed next and he drew a walk. Marcus Semien came up to bat and would hit into a force play making Pittsburgh the victors to the delight of the home town faithful. Pittsburgh finished with 8 hits in the victory.
Pierce Johnson(1-0) allowed 2 runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory. Shelby Miller(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief. He pitched 3 innings allowing 1 hit and 2 walks.
