Pittsburgh (UBAN) - Spencer Strider whiffed 12 batters at PNC Park where the New York Highlanders beat the Pittsburgh Alleghenys by the score of 8 to 2 in Game #3 of the ECCS.
Strider(2-0) was solid in the win. He gave up just 6 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings dropping his ERA from 1.69 to 1.35. New York rapped out 9 hits for the night.
Kodai Senga(0-1) ended up with the loss. He allowed 5 hits and 7 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings. Strider didn't realize how many strikeouts he was racking up. When told he had 12 he was obviously surprised, 'No kidding? Man, I knew that I had a decent total, but I didn't think I had K'd that many. Say,
that's pretty good, isn't it?'
