Alleghenys Score Early, Coast to 9 - 3 Win and Ticket Back to New York

Pittsburgh (UBAN) - In a one-sided affiar at PNC Park the final score was the Pittsburgh Alleghenys 9, the New York Highlanders 3. With Pittsburgh's win the ECCS returns to New York for Game #6 on Saturday evening.
New York fell behind quickly as the Pittsburgh offense came through in the first inning when they scored 5 runs on 4 hits. Whit Merrifield and Marcus Semien opened the frame with back-to-back home runs. Four batters later Mike Moustakas added a three-run blast. That was all the offense they were to need. Pittsburgh banged out 13 hits on the night.
The victory was credited to Luis Castillo(3-2) who went 5 and 2/3 innings, allowing 2 runs. Nathan Eovaldi(0-2) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 3 homeruns in 1/3 of an inning of work.
