Alleghenys Steal Extra Inning Thriller to Force Game 7 in ECCS

New York (UBAN) - The Pittsburgh Alleghenys and the New York Highlanders locked up in an exciting one-run game at Babe Ruth Park. The final score was the Pittsburgh Alleghenys 4, the New York Highlanders 3 in 10 innings. The Pittsburgh victory ties the ECCS at 3 games a piece and sets up a Game 7 in New York tomorrow night.
The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Pittsburgh was victorious in the 10th inning. Whit Merrifield hit a single. Merrifield swiped second base. Pittsburgh continued their aggressive style with another stolen base. Marcus Semien was up next and he hit a deep fly scoring the run. Both teams ended up with 6 hits on the night.
Tyler Holton(3-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Pierce Johnson recorded the save, his 2nd. Sam Moll(1-1) took the loss in relief.
Pittsburgh will send Bailey Ober to the mound tomorrow night in Game 7 while the Highlanders will counter with Spencer Strider.
