Crochet Fans 10 as Saints Complete Sweep of Monarchs; Otters, Angels Post First Wins

Kansas City (UBAN) - Trea Turner had 3 base hits and Garrett Crochet mowed down 10 Kansas City batters as the Salt Lake City Saints beat the Kansas City Monarchs by a score of 4 to 1.
Crochet(1-0) gave Salt Lake City a solid outing. He went 5 innings allowing 4 hits and 1 walk. Salt Lake City ended up with 9 hits for the game while Kansas City had 4.
Crochet got help from Tanner Scott who earned his 1st save. The loss was charged to Kevin Gausman(0-1). 'He was really impressive today,' Gausman said of his counterpart. 'Our guys were just swinging at air.'
In Memphis, Corey Seager hit a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Chicago Otters beat the Memphis Marauders by a score of 4 to 3.
Kyle Gibson(1-0) contributed a pedestrian performance to earn the win. He went 5 innings and surrendered up 5 hits and 4 walks. Gibson struckout 7 Memphis batters. Memphis had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
Alexis Diaz got the save, his 1st. Clarke Schmidt(0-1) was charged with the loss. 'It was a tough one to lose' said Joe Rudi 'We'll get them next time out.'
And in Los Angeles, Heliot Ramos went deep and had 2 RBI as the Los Angeles Angels beat the St. Louis Browns by a score of 7 to 2.
Los Angeles started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the first plating one baserunner on 2 hits. Los Angeles out-hit St. Louis for the game, 14 hits to 6.
Kyle Harrison(1-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 7 innings. Marcus Stroman(0-1) was given the loss. He allowed 13 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
