Naylor Leads Barrage as Wranglers Rout Feds; Sluggers Rally for 2 in 8th to Nip Bisons

Washington (UBAN) - Josh Naylor had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the San Antonio Wranglers ballclub embarrassed the Washington Federals by the count of 15 to 2.
Naylor had a big evening at the plate. He popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 1st inning, ripped a base-hit in the 3rd inning, doubled which scored a run in the 7th inning and stroked a single in the 9th inning. San Antonio bats were hot in the 9th inning with 7 runs on 5 hits. San Antonio simply wore out the Washington pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings.
Landon Knack(1-0) allowed 2 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Triston McKenzie(0-1) ended up with the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 8 hits and 4 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.
In Louisville, 26,446 fans were treated to a fine game at Sluggers Park as only one run separated the combatants at game's end. The Louisville Sluggers won by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.
Louisville had the game winning rally in the 8th inning scoring 2 runs utilizing 4 base hits. Michael Massey led off and he laced a one-base hit. After an out was recorded, Jesse Winker came up and he slapped a base-hit. Abraham Toro then stroked a base-hit to load the bases. Brendan Donovan
followed next and he hit a sacrifice fly plating a run. Ivan Herrera stepped into the box and ripped a single scoring the final run of the inning. Buffalo had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
The victory was credited to Michael Tonkin(1-0) who went 2/3 of an inning, allowing no runs. Ryan Helsley earned the save, his 2nd. Jeff Hoffman(1-1) took the loss in relief. He saw his ERA jump from 4.91 to 6.75 as gave up 1 run in 1/3 of an inning.
