Winn Homers Twice, Drives in Five as Longhorns Remain Unbeaten; Cruz Homers Twice as Blues Edge M's

Indianapolis (UBAN) - Masyn Winn knocked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Indianapolis Longhorns outscored the Nashville Sounds 12 to 6.

Winn was in a groove all evening. He smashed a two-run homer in the 3rd inning, lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 5th inning and doubled scoring two baserunners in the 7th inning. Nashville was out-hit by Indianapolis, 14 hits to 9.

Dean Kremer(1-0) allowed 3 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Nestor Cortes(0-2) took the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 4 and 1/3 innings of work.

Indianapolis won for the 6th straight time. 'It seems we can't lose these days', Yadier Molina volunteered after the game. Then after a moment to reflect he lamented, 'Oh great! Now I've gone and jinxed us!'

In Memphis, designated hitter Oneil Cruz ripped 2 homeruns and scored 3 times as the New Orleans Blues defeated the Memphis Marauders by a score of 5 to 3 at Marauders Park.

Cruz provided much of the offense. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 1st inning and smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 9th inning. Memphis was out-hit by New Orleans, 8 hits to 5.

The win was credited to Richard Lovelady(1-0) who went 1 inning allowing no runs. Bryan Hudson was credited with his 1st save. The loss was charged to Hunter Greene(0-1). Despite losing, he struckout 13 New Orleans batters in 8 innings.
