Corbin Pitches Chiefs Past Lab Rats; Otters Plate Three in 9th to Walk-Off Angels

Richmond (UBAN) - Patrick Corbin went 8 strong innings and Jake Bauers homered as the Atlanta Chiefs topped the Richmond Lab Rats by a score of 3 to 1 at Lab Rat Stadium.

Atlanta came up with 2 runs in the top of the 3rd inning. That early scoring held up. Overall Atlanta out-hit Richmond 11 to 4.

The win was credited to Corbin(1-1) who went 8 innings allowing 1 run. Griffin Jax recorded the save, his 3rd. Jameson Taillon(1-1) took the loss.

In Chicago, Adrian Morejon went 2 and one third innings for the victory at Otter Park as the Chicago Otters staged a comeback win over the Los Angeles Angels by the count of 5 to 3.

Chicago had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning plating 3 runs

on 2 hits. William Contreras led off and got things going when he doubled.

Ramon Laureano stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk. Maikel Garcia

then clubbed a three-run home run making Chicago the winners and sending the

48,855 fans home happy. Chicago and Los Angeles each finished the afternoon

with 9 hits.

Morejon(1-0) went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Andres

Munoz(0-1) was tagged with the loss in relief. 'What a game!,' Morejon said

afterward. 'When we won it I almost couldn't believe it!'
