Sluggers Score 7 in Bottom on 9th to Stun Browns; Polanco 8th Inning Blast Lifts Bisons

Louisville (UBAN) - In an unbelieveable finish the Louisville Sluggers won in dramatic fashion over the St. Louis Browns by a score of 8 to 6 at Sluggers Park.
St. Louis was unable to overcome the big offensive rally by Louisville in the 9th inning as they ripped St. Louis for 7 runs on 5 hits. Down 6 -1 with two on and two outm Jesse Winker lined a single to score Wilyer Abreu. Craig Kimbrel came on and hit Ha-Seong Kim to load the bases. Brendan Donovan then elicited a roar from the hometown fans when he doubled clearing the bases. Ivan Herrera then tripled. Kerry Carpenter came to the plate and launched a two-run homerun sending the Slugger faithful home happy. Louisville managed 9 hits in their victory.
The winning pitcher was Keegan Akin(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. The loss was charged to Craig Kimbrel(2-1) in relief. 'Wow, that was fun!', Akin said following the game. 'Once in a while you play a game that reminds you just why you got into this business to begin with!'
The amazing Buffalo Bisons got by the Atlanta Chiefs at Sal Maglie Stadium. The final score was 4 to 2.
Buffalo came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 8th inning with 2 runs on 4 base hits. After an out was recorded, Spencer Horwitz initiated the scoring spurt when he laced a base-knock. Tommy Pham came next and he ripped a base-hit. One out later, Jorge Polanco then lifted one out of the park for a two run home run. Buffalo had 12 hits for the night while Atlanta had 9.
The victory went to Shelby Miller(3-1) who went 1/3 of an inning, allowing no runs. Clay Holmes recorded the save, his 7th. Carson Fulmer(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief.
