Los Angeles (UBAN) - In a thriller the Mexico City Aguilas Doradas staged a dramatic comeback then held on to win over the Los Angeles Angels by a score of 5 to 4 at Angel Stadium.
Mexico City scored the decisive runs in a big top of the 9th inning with 2 runs on 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Luis Campusano began the Mexico City spurt when he stroked a single. Mookie Betts stepped up next and he clubbed a two-run home run. The game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 5 times.
The win was credited to John Schreiber(1-0) who went 3 innings allowing 1 run. Andres Munoz(1-2) ended up with the loss in relief.
Munoz was feeling apologetic in the locker room, 'I sure let that one get away. What a miserable feeling to let the guys down; and our fans. One minute things are looking great, then. BOOM, it's over with! I just hope I get a chance to redeem myself real soon!'
In Seattle, D.J. Herz took a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Knights beat the Milwaukee Stars by a score of 10 to 3.
Herz(1-0) had a strong outing. He didn't give up much, just 3 hits and 1 walk in 6 and 2/3 innings. Herz mowed down 7 Milwaukee batters. Seattle kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.
