Santana Homers Twice in Knights' Win; Lowe Homer Paces Rats as Richmond Gains on Feds

Vancouver (UBAN) - Carlos Santana ripped 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Seattle Knights bested the Vancouver Death Lemurs 3 to 1 at Death Lemur Field.
Santana was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided much of the offense for the visitors. He cracked a solo homerun in the 1st inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 6th inning. Gavin Williams(1-0) got help from Jake Junis who pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 1st save.
The losing pitcher was Frankie Montas(0-4). He pitched 7 innings allowing 4 hits and 3 walks.
In a good matchup at Lab Rat Stadium, it was the Richmond Lab Rats 7, the Washington Federals.
Richmond scored 2 runs in the decisive bottom of the 7th inning when they came up with 3 base hits. The big moment was provided by Nathaniel Lowe who excited the crowd when he popped a two-run clout over the fence. Richmond managed 12 hits in their victory.
Brant Hurter(1-0) allowed no runs in 4 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Carlos Carrasco(0-2) suffered the loss. He was unable to control the Richmond offense and allowed 9 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
Wth the win Richmond now has a record of 12-11. With the loss Washington now has a record of 13-11.
