San Francisco (UBAN) - Yu Darvish whiffed 10 batters and Nico Hoerner slammed 2 homeruns at Seals
Park as the Dallas Colts beat the San Francisco Seals in 11 innings 6 to 2.
The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings. Finally, Dallas pulled the game out in the 11th inning. The critical plate appearance was by Hoerner who disappointed the partisan crowd when he caught a hold of a bad pitch for a Grand Slam homerun. Dallas finished with 7 hits in the victory.
Hunter Gaddis(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 2/3 of an inning. Pete Fairbanks earned his 6th save. Bryan Abreu(0-1) was given the loss in relief.
In Indianapolis, Alex Bregman slammed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Blake Snell retired 13 batters on strikeouts at Longhorn Stadium as the Indianapolis Longhorns beat the New York Highlanders by the count of 7 to 0.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance provided by Bregman. He rifled a three-run blast in the 1st inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 5th inning. Indianapolis had 13 hits for the game and New York had 3.
The victory went to Snell(3-0) who went 7 innings, allowing no runs. Griffin Canning(0-3) was charged with the loss. Eddie Murray was upset after the game. 'I don't like to complain but did you see that umpires strike zone?', he said. 'Maybe they ought to start calling the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book.'
