Atlanta (UBAN) - Mike Yastrzemski hit one over the fence as the Atlanta Chiefs pulled out a win over the Miami Marlins by a score of 6 to 5 at Truist Park.
The game was decided in the 9th inning. After an out was recorded, Yastrzemski smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' giving Atlanta the victory and sending the 30,124 home-town fans home happy. Atlanta had 11 hits overall, while Miami had 6.
T.J. McFarland(2-2) was the winner allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Evan Phillips(0-2) was given the loss in relief. 'It felt really nice to get this win,' McFarland said. 'I kind of dictated the game. It's what I get paid to do. It worked out this time.'
Joc Pederson launched 2 homeruns as the San Antonio Wranglers topped the Los Angeles Angels by a score of 5 to 2 at Angel Stadium.
San Antonio promptly took the lead in their half of the first when they tallied 3 runs on 3 hits. That was all the runs Michael Wacha(4-2) needed. San Antonio rapped out 8 hits for the night.
