Sluggers Prevail in 11 Inning Thriller; Braves Overcome 5-Run Deficit to Down Angels

Louisville (UBAN) - Second baseman Michael Massey went deep and had 2 RBI when it counted the most as the Louisville Sluggers topped the Memphis Marauders in 11 innings by a score of 9 to 7 at Sluggers Park.
The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings, and at 7 after ten. Louisville came out on top in the 11th inning. Michael Massey started the attack as he clubbed a two-run home run giving Louisville the victory as 39,259 happy fans celebrated wildly. A wild and woolly affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.
Ryan Helsley(2-3) allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Chad Green(1-5) was the losing pitcher in relief. He pitched 1 inning allowing 3 hits and no walks.
Bobby Witt Jr slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI as the San Diego Braves defeated the Los Angeles Angels by the score of 7 to 6 at Angel Stadium.
San Diego came through with the game-winning runs in the 8th inning plating 3 runs on 3 hits. Witt Jr got things rolling when he cracked a solo homerun. Yordan Alvarez next to the plate and he laced a base-knock. Ryan O'Hearn then reached on an error. After an out was recorded, Ryan McMahon stepped up to the plate and he laced a base-knock driving in one more runner. Austin Wynns came up to bat and was hit by a pitch. Rob Refsnyder continued the rally and hit a deep fly scoring the final run of the inning. Los Angeles threatened in the 9th but San Diego was able to put down the rally.
The victory went to Michael Kopech(2-3) who went 2/3 of an inning, allowing 1 run. Kopech got help from Josh Hader who earned his 8th save. The loss was charged to Tanner Banks(1-1) in relief.
