McMahon Drives in 3 to Pace Braves; Marauders Take Two from Sluggers

Los Angeles (UBAN) - Ryan McMahon lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI as the San Diego
Braves beat the Los Angeles Angels by a score of 8 to 5.
In the 3rd inning San Diego scored 4 runs when they had 4 base hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Austin Wynns who quieted the home crowd when he ripped a base-hit bringing home two baserunners. Los Angeles proved to be no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.
Paul Blackburn(2-3) got the win allowing 5 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Ryan Pressly preserved the game for Blackburn, recording his his 1st save. Michael King(2-4) was the losing pitcher. He was hit hard and gave up 9 hits and 4 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
In he first game of a twinbill, Hunter Greene whiffed 11 batters as the Memphis Marauders bested the Louisville Sluggers in 10 innings 6 to 5.
The game was deadlocked at 5 after nine full innings. Memphis won it in the 10th inning. Rafael Devers lined a single. One out later, Masataka Yoshida stepped up to the plate and he hit a deep fly scoring the run. Memphis managed 9 hits in their victory.
The win went to Ryan Walker(2-2) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Chad Green earned his 5th save. The loss was charged to Anthony Bender(0-1) in relief. It was a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work.
In the nightcap, Pete Alonso had 2 base hits and Clayton Kershaw pitched 5 strong innings as the Memphis Marauders bested the Louisville Sluggers 3 to 1 at Sluggers Park.
Memphis had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning with 2 runs utilizing 3 base hits. Alonso led off and he doubled. Two outs later Daniel Schneemann stepped up to the plate and he stroked a one-base hit knocking in a run. Matt Vierling then doubled scoring the final run of the inning. Memphis managed 8 hits in their victory.
Bryan Hoeing(1-0) got the win allowing 1 run in 3 innings. Ryan Walker earned the save, his 8th. Keegan Akin(3-1) was charged with the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning and surrendered 1 hit and no walks.
