Elly De Homers Twice as Islanders Cruz by Braves; Nashville Soundly Defeats Sluggers in South Showdo

San Diego (UBAN) - Elly De La Cruz knocked 2 homeruns as the Hawaii Islanders outscored the San Diego Braves in 11 innings 7 to 6.
Both teams had scored 6 runs after nine full innings. Hawaii ended up winning it in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Chris Martin then had one get away for a wild pitch. Willi Castro stepped up next and he hit a sacrifice fly scoring the run. Hawaii won despite being out-hit by San Diego 14 hits to 11.
Justin Martinez(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing 1 run. Martinez got help from Enoli Paredes who earned his 2nd save. Martin(0-1) ended up with the loss in relief. He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.
The Nashville Sounds toppled the Louisville Sluggers by a 6 to 2 score at Sounds Field.
Nashville drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning when they came up with 2 runs on 2 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Alec Bohm who thrilled the crowd when he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run. Nashville had only 5 hits for the night.
The victory was credited to Dylan Cease(4-2) who went 5 and 2/3 innings, allowing 2 runs. Kyle Leahy recorded the save, his 1st. Michael Lorenzen(2-3) was given the loss.
