Bell Delivers 3-Homer Day to Power Elites; Altuve Has 5-Hit Day to Pace Highlanders

Baltimore (UBAN) - Josh Bell smashed 3 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Baltimore Elite Giants defeated the New Orleans Blues in 10 innings 10 to 7 at Roy Campanella Field.

The score was knotted at 7 after nine innings. Baltimore ended up winning it in the 10th inning. Paul Dejong jump-started the rally as he drew a walk. After an out was recorded, Bell came to the plate and lost the ball over the fence for three runs making Baltimore victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. New Orleans was out-hit by Baltimore, 13 hits to 9.

The win went to Seranthony Dominguez(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Bryan Hudson(1-4) took the loss in relief. 'I had a big day, but there's a lot of credit to go around' Bell said. 'We played well together as a team.'

Erick Fedde had a strong outing and Jose Altuve had 5 hits and 2 RBI at PNC Park as the New York Highlanders beat the Pittsburgh Alleghenys 8 to 1.

Altuve had a good day at the plate. He laced a single in the 1st inning, lined a base-hit resulting in a run in the 2nd inning, delivered a one-base hit in the 5th inning, laced a base-knock in the 7th inning and ripped a solo home run in the 9th inning. Offensively, New York was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.

The win went to Fedde(6-3) who allowed 1 run in 8 innings. Kyle Freeland(4-2) was given the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 7 runs in 6 innings.

With this win, New York has a 23-18 record. They have been 7-3 lately. With the loss Pittsburgh now has a record of 20-20.
