Braves Rally to Tie in 9, Win in 10; 12-Run 7th Inning Lifts Marlins Past Jacks

San Diego (UBAN) - Ryan Pepiot reeled off a total of 11 strikeouts as the San Diego Braves outscored the Hawaii Islanders in 10 innings 4 to 3.
The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings. San Diego was victorious in the 10th inning. After two outs Wenceel Perez was walked intentionally. Kevin Kiermaier was next and he laced a base-hit resulting in an exciting win for San Diego and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Overall San Diego out-hit Hawaii 9 to 6.
The win was credited to Andrew Chafin(1-0) who went 3 innings allowing no runs. Justin Martinez(1-1) was hit with the loss in relief.
In a one-sided affiar at Marlins Park the final score was the Miami Marlins 16, the Jacksonville Jacks 6.
It was a good day for Miami thanks to Triston Casas. He delivered a one-base hit in the 1st inning, delivered a solo blast in the 7th inning and doubled clearing all three ducks off the pond in the 7th inning. Miami lit up the scoreboard in the 3rd inning scoring 4 runs and the 7th inning which saw them plate 12 runs on 8 hits. Jacksonville was out-hit by Miami, 15 hits to 10.
The winning pitcher was Kyle Finnegan(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Brendon Little(2-2) was hit with the loss in relief. He allowed 3 runs and 3 hits in 1 inning.
'They made a couple of mistakes and I took full advantage,' Casas said 'next time I'm sure they'll pitch me tougher.'
