New Orleans (UBAN) - Ryan Feltner struck out 10 batters as the blistering-hot Indianapolis Longhorns ballclub embarrassed the New Orleans Blues by the count of 12 to 0.
Feltner(3-2) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the New Orleans batters. He surrendered only 1 hit and 2 walks in 7 innings lowering his ERA to 4.50. Indianapolis had only 5 hits for the night.
Edward Cabrera(1-3) took the loss. Jim Palmer was impressed with Feltner and his 10 strikeouts. 'It's tough to generate runs if you can't make contact with the ball.'
In Honolulu, Jo Adell slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Hawaii Islanders outscored the Salt Lake City Saints in 16 innings 11 to 10.
The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Hawaii won the hard fought contest in the 16th inning. After an out was recorded, Elly De La Cruz smacked a single giving Hawaii the victory as 48,264 happy fans celebrated wildly. A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 6 times.
The victory was credited to Enoli Paredes(1-1) who went 2 and 2/3 innings, allowing no runs. The losing pitcher was John King(0-1) in relief.
