Oakland (UBAN) - Ozzie Albies had 2 base hits and Ryan Pepiot took a no-hitter into the 8th inning as the San Diego Braves outscored the Oakland Black Panther Party in 10 innings 1 to 0.
The run-column was full of goose eggs at the end of nine full innings. San Diego came out the victor in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Albies lined a single scoring the run. San Diego finished with just 5 hits in the victory.
Kolby Allard(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. The right-handed Pepiot lost a no-hitter when Ceddanne Rafaela doubled with two outs in the 8th inning. Allard got relief help from Josh Hader who gained credit for his 11th save. Luke Weaver(1-6) was hit with the loss in relief. He was a hard-luck loser, pitching 3 innings and not allowing an earned run.
Cal Quantrill carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Buffalo Bisons defeated the Indianapolis Longhorns 5 to 2 at Sal Maglie Stadium.
Quantrill(4-0) pitched a solid game. He went 6 and 1/3 innings surrendering 4 hits and no walks improving his ERA from 3.22 to 3.00. The right-handed Quantrill had his no-hit bid broken up by Spencer Torkelson who singled with nobody out in the 6th inning. Indianapolis proved to be no trouble in the 9th.
Jeff Hoffman gained credit for his 1st save. Ryan Feltner(3-3) took the loss. He surrended 3 homeruns in his 5 and 1/3 innings.
