Rodon Fans 12 as Longhorns Blank Otters; Stars Plate 2 in 9th to Down Feds

Indianapolis (UBAN) - Carlos Rodon dominated striking out 12 Chicago batters as the very potent Indianapolis Longhorns outscored the Chicago Otters 4 to 0.
Rodon(7-0) escaped virtually unscathed against the Chicago hitters. He surrendered only 4 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings dropping his ERA from 2.06 to 1.79. Both teams finished the game with 5 hits.
Kutter Crawford(3-6) suffered the loss. Despite the loss, he struckout 9 Indianapolis batters in 6 and 2/3 innings. Rodon was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.'
The Longhorns are currently 21-1 at home.
In a good matchup it was the Milwaukee Stars 5, the Washington Federals 3 at Federals Park.
Milwaukee scored the winning runs in the top of the 9th inning with 2 runs using 2 hits. Donovan Solano led off the inning for Milwaukee when he laced a one-base hit, and an error was also committed. Bryan Reynolds followed and he reached on an error. Reynolds got a great jump and stole second easily. Ryan Jeffers followed next and he doubled plating two runs. Although they lost, Washington did out-hit Milwaukee 11 to 6.
The victory went to Dylan Floro(3-1) who went 1 and 1/3 innings, allowing no runs. Kenley Jansen earned his 12th save. Sean Hjelle(4-1) absorbed the loss in relief.
