Feds Hand Longhorns First Home Series Loss; Seals Rally to Tie in 8, Walk-Off Highlanders in 12

Indianapolis (UBAN) - 46,028 fans were treated to a fine game at Longhorn Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Washington Federals won by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.
Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, Washington prevailed in the 10th inning. After two outs Salvador Perez was walked intentionally. Harrison Bader next to the plate and he laced a one-base hit scoring the run. Washington had a total of 8 hits for the game.
The win went to Alex Faedo(1-1) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Trevor Megill earned his 14th save. Ben Joyce(2-3) ended up with the loss in relief. He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.
Justin Steele reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts as the San Francisco Seals defeated the New York Highlanders in 12 innings by a score of 6 to 5 at Seals Park.
The score was tied at 5 after nine. San Francisco came out on top in the 12th inning. After two were out Jose Ramirez was walked intentionally. Bryan De La Cruz stepped into the batter's box and he slapped a base-hit resulting in an exciting win for San Francisco and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. Overall San Francisco out-hit New York 13 to 10.
The winning pitcher was Raisel Iglesias(2-2) who allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings. The losing pitcher was Garrett Cleavinger(2-2) in relief. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work.
