Mikolas, Rodgers Lead Elite Giants to Sweep; De La Cruz Sparks Islanders Extra-Inning Win

Baltimroe (UBAN) - Miles Mikolas went 8 strong innings and Brendan Rodgers lofted one into the

'cheap seats' and had 5 RBI as the Baltimore Elite Giants defeated the Indianapolis Longhorns by the score of 10 to 2 at Roy Campanella Field.

Rodgers helped send the fans home happy. He doubled plating all three baserunners in the 3rd inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 7th inning. Baltimore out-hit Indianapolis for the game, 13 hits to 6.

Mikolas(6-3) went 8 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. Carlos Rodon(7-1) was the loser. His ERA ballooned from 2.19 to 2.77 as he allowed 5 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Elly De La Cruz cracked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Aloha Stadium as the Hawaii Islanders beat the Mexico City Aguilas Doradas in 10 innings 5 to 4.

The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Hawaii won the game in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, De La Cruz doubled resulting in an exciting win for Hawaii and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Hawaii finished with 10 hits in the victory.

Derek Law(3-2) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Yennier Cano(3-1) was hit with the loss in relief. He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.

'The ball was jumping off my bat' De La Cruz said. 'I didn't do anything differently, it's the same way I always approach the game.'
