Lopez, Rooker Hand M's 1 - 0 Win in LA; Naylor Delivers Comeback Win for Wranglers

June 11, 2025

Los Angeles (UBAN) - In a game for the baseball purist, Reynaldo Lopez(6-5) and J.P. Sears(5-6) squared off in a tense pitching duel, Memphis Marauders finally emerged victorious over Los Angeles Angels, 1 to 0.

Lopez contributed a very nicely pitched game. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk in 6 and 2/3 innings reducing his ERA from 4.21 to 3.84. Lopez got relief help from Ryan Walker who was excellent in relief and gained credit for his 10th save.

Brent Rooker's 23rd homerun of the campaign - in the top of the first inning - accounted for the game's only run.

In a startling finish the San Antonio Wranglers staged a comeback then held on to win over the Toledo Mud Hens by a score of 4 to 3 at Klinger Field.

San Antonio had the winning rally in the 9th inning with 2 runs. After an out was recorded, Joc Pederson began the rally when he drew a walk. Josh Naylor came next and he smashed a two-run homer. San Antonio rapped out 10 hits for the night.

The victory went to Jared Koenig(2-1) who went 1/3 of an inning, allowing no runs. Seth Halvorsen recorded the save, his 4th. Emilio Pagan(0-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. He saw his ERA jump from 4.19 to 5.03 as gave up 2 runs in 1/3 of an inning.

'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' Naylor said. 'If you just keep trying good things can happen!'
